I started the Postpartum Slimdown program when I was 5 months postpartum. I had never had trouble losing weight before using a healthy diet/exercise plus the help of Weight Watchers. Well, while trying all of that, I was not only not losing weight, I would occasionally GAIN weight. Enter tears and frustration!!
I heard about this program from my sister-in-law and how it was the only thing that had worked for her friend. I was desperate at the time, so I figured why not. I started with the Level II Detox (the 5 day cleanse), followed by the 21 day maintenance program. I won’t sugar coat it — it’s hard and requires a lot of self discipline (especially when you’re doing it during Thanksgiving like I did!).
After the cleanse and the 21 day maintenance, I’m back in my pre-pregnancy jeans (YES!!!!!) and am receiving compliments left and right. Also, a lot of people have asked me what I did to lose the baby weight and I want to scream it from the rooftops!!
I’m still drinking the shakes for breakfast and some snacks, and keeping a pretty clean diet (no dairy, limited carbs, etc.) but I really don’t want to eat those things because I’ve worked so hard to get to this place. I’m also not craving them like I used to. Also, I haven’t weighed myself because all I know is that my old clothes fit and I feel GREAT.
Anyways, if you’re waffling — DO IT. It’s worth it.
I really struggled losing the pregnancy weight and struggled to feel like myself again after baby #2. Especially following our nursing journey. The weight didn’t want to come off and my mindset was easily swayed as far as poor eating and exercise choices go. I then tried many different healthy eating methods/programs and exercise regimens, but my body didn’t seem to want to budge. I came across the Postpartum Slimdown and after reading more about it and hearing @thesouthernishmama’s results I figured, “what do I have to lose?”
I decided to give it a try and it was 100% worth it! The 3 day slimdown gave my body the reset I had been searching for. Physically, I felt more like myself and the healthy, cleaner eating patterns have now stuck following the challenge. Emotionally I didn’t feel so defeated and frustrated with what was going on with my body following childbirth. Mentally, it was an actual reset to start fresh for me and achieve my goals. I lost 4.8 pounds during the challenge, however the non scale changes physically, emotionally, and psychologically gave me the balance in my health I had been looking for. 100% recommend!
I really enjoyed the postpartum slimdown and will definitely do it again in the future! I did the Level I Detox (3-day program), and did have a slight headache for the three days, but I think that is part of detoxing and is something to be expected of the sort! My scale was actually broken during the program so I wasn't able to track weight loss, but I definitely felt cleaner and lighter after the three days! It was the perfect reset for me prior to getting pregnant again! I am actually 9 weeks pregnant now and have been enduring the lovely first trimester symptoms, but will absolutely do the Postpartum Slimdown again after baby number two! I hope to do the 5 or 7 day program! The flavor of the shakes is by far the best I have ever tasted from a "shake" or detox program ever before and I always felt full on 4 shakes per day!
In December, I did the Level III Detox (7 days) and lost 13 lbs! It really does work. I put back on 4 lbs because of the holidays and for me it was all stress (stress really affects my weight). Anyways, I will be doing the Level I Detox (3 days) in January. It is so easy and WORKS. Thank you Postpartum Slimdown Team for all of your help.
The Postpartum Slimdown was amazing! I am not a postpartum mom, but instead used the program to get healthy. I did the Level I detox for 3 days. Over the course of the program, I lost 4 lbs and gained control of my eating habits. I would definitely recommend the program whether you are postpartum or looking to lose some extra weight.
